baby snake "poop" lol

mbrown

Sleepless in NY
my 3 mths old has eaten 2 days ago (1 pinkie) and he didnt poop yet, (what does it look like?> LOL) unless its so tiny i cant see it. the waterbowl is always clean, which i change every day.i heard u shouldnt feed again until u see poo. what if i never see the poo cus its so tiny, should i still feed him(i feed every 5 -6 days now)? IMO its an "of course", but i'd like some advice on this. oh and also: i never seen him swim or lay in water, which prolly means he may do it at night, should i take him and lay him in his waterbowl, just so he gets used to water? or does that only have to happen before shedding?[/U] thank you

Chances are it has done it's business but you just can't see it. Depending on when you find it, will depend on what it will look like. What are you using for bedding? If you use paper towels or newspaper you will see it. Using Aspen or something like that will make it harder to find the "treasure" you are looking for especially if you are using a lot of it.

None of my snakes lay in their water, even when they are about to shed.

The only reason your snake would lay in the water is if the humidity is REALLY low or if the tank is too hot. Then again, I have heard of corns actually enjoying water, so yours may develop a liking for it, but I'll bet that it wont.

The few times I've given my snakes a bath (if I knew that they hadn't gone to the bathroom in a while) none of them have enjoyed it. In fact they had a fit and squirmed like crazy to get out of the water.

As far as your snake going to the batheroom, you probably just haven't noticed it because it's so tiny, but they also dont go exactly 2 days after eating either. It can take up to 4 or 5 days for a hatchling, and one of my adults has held it for up to two weeks after a meal, though this is an excessively long time. Just so you know, if you use loose substrate, even a full grow cornsnakes poop is a bit hard to find sometimes.

My hatchling is just over 4 months old, and since i had her at 4 weeks old, i feed her every four days.
As far as i am aware, hatchlings feed approx. twice a week. Someone correct me if i am wrong. :)
have fun searching for the poo!!!!! It's kind of like little bird's droppings in consistancy but soon dries hard in viv. :grin01:

also check in the hides, sometimes mine does it there

and dont worry about the water they dont "need" to go in the water, they only need some to drink at least
