I was just wondering if anybody could help me,i want to buy a baby snake but i am not sure how to house it and what equipment i need. Any help would be really appreciated. :shrugs:

At the top of this section, there is a faq which should get you started, there is similar info at the top of each seperate forum. Also order the cornsnake manual from Kathy Love, you'll be well on your way

It doesn't sound thick at all, but she is one of the most repected breeders and has written a comprehensive guide to the keeping of corns!

Juat add this to the care sheet and you'll be fHusbandry and such

Thank you i really appreciate all your help.I want to get as much info as i can before i buy my baby, also what is the best sex to buy and where is the best place to buy from. sorry for all the questions.

The sex does not matter and a good breeder is the best place if your in the us kathy love herself sells corns.

i just realized you are from the UK and these are all American breeders so you might want to contact a local herp group and see if they know of any breeders in the UK.

am certainly no expert on corns as ive only had mine for 2months, but from reading alot of the posts on here it seems there is no difference between sexes, no difference in temperement anyway, just that one lays eggs and one doesnt lol. evryons right in suggestig doing ur hoework on corns before getting one, else u might find urself posting questions every 5mis, which im guessing no-one minds but it'd be a lil time consuming for ya.
as books will suggest, ur basic starter kit seems to be a cage not much bigger than ur average shoe box, a UTH (under-tank heatpad), some substrate (bedding) of which newspaper is the best and easiest and cheapest, yet not the nicest looking, and then u need a hide and a water bowl. Get ur snake and some food for it, and with all ingredients mixed properly u'll have fun and laughs and a nice new snake!
In UK baby corns range from around £30 to £80 depending on morphs (colours basically) and a whole kit from a decent 'privately owned' pet shop should be around $60 to £120. I say privately owned because it seems that huge pet store companies are bad news.
Enjoy ur snake and hope this helps!
