Bad, bad camera.
Just can't capture the colors sorrectly.
Saved the pics of the 2 snakes on kingsnake.com photo galley, as each time I try to load them onto this site, it does not work.
You can find my poor photos under the username "Shaky."
I curse that amel regularly when she refuses to eat. She was the only one in the clutch and is the only one who is still a pain in the arse. Only reason I kept her is she's the wife's favorite.
You want her? She'll go cheap, the lousy so and so!
The entire clutch had interesting head markings like that. I haven't really noticed any others like this, and am looking forward to seeing their adult coloration.
These were taken on a Sony Mavica FD83. The original images are 1024x768, and show even more detail. These were resized down to 640x480 for easier screen viewing on smaller resolutions (My monitor's in 1600x1200, so I like the bigger pics, heh).
Like I said, a great camera even though it's fairly old.
Key points to look out for are a fairly high optical zoom (5x or more... ideally 10x or more)... (ignore digital zoom... Photoshop can blow pics up better than digital zoom on 99% of cameras, heh) a decent macro, and nice high resolution.
Helps to have a laptop too if you're out in the field taking loads of pics and don't have lots of storage space on the memory sticks/floppies.
