BAD EGGS???

Hi.... Ziggy laid her first eggs, yesterday. She had nine pretty good sized eggs but they are all a golden yellow. Does that mean they are bad? They are all big and plump. I don't want to waste my time incubating them if there is going to be nothing coming from them. She really surprised me with this clutch and I really wasn't ready. I will do what I have to do, though :bird: I would appreciate a response on this. Thanks Squeaker

It sounds like you have slugs! Can you take a pic of them?

I wish I were computer literate so I could post a photo. They are all about the size of the first digit on your pinkie finger. Now parts of them are white and the rest is yellow. They are still plump as can be. Hmmmmm? I sure wish I knew what to do. I hate to see her go to all of that work for nothing. Darn.... Thanks for your help

My Butter laid 18 eggs which were all yellow, on Easter Sunday. They have since sloughed off the yellow coating- and they are now all a healthy white color. Also, when they were laid, they all had some sort of weird stringy stuff which linked one egg to the next.

There were also 3 very small eggs which became a darker shade of yellow, and when they started to get black and depressed i tossed those on the compost heap- but the rest are getting larger in size.
All of the other females are producing eggs like the ones in the corn care books. This one female just seems inclined to produce weird eggs.
