well i came home from school to see tht my snake shed his head and 2 inches of his body but thn it ripped off so wat is wrong is he stressed or is it because they didnt treat hime right at the pet store or wat

Just a bad shed from what I can understand. , Is it a ""hatchling" ?

You could try letting the snake crawl throung a damp towel has you hold it. After several time and a little preasure that will help remove the rest of the old shed.

I have never had a bad shed. But what I do is. As soon as it see any of my snakes in blue. I place then in a damp pillow case for 20 mins. This will allow moisture and humidity in their hide. It's kind of like a removable humid hide.

Once they turn clear. I let them swim in room temperature bath. Every shed has been PERFECT since I started doing this.

Just some future shed advice

ya its about 1 month old and ya i put him in a contaner with a damp rag and most of it has come off but i will start doing tht pain tht sound like a good idea

well after i posted i checked on him and everything was gone except a lil on his tail and it pealed right off but the colars on the lower part of his body are still a little dull will they brighten as he gets older

It's generally a sign of dehydration or not a high enough humidity. Since corns don't like their humidity too high it may be a good idea to add a humid hide to your snakes viv.

Take a small container with a tight lid.

Get a paper towel wet, squeeze it out.

Put it in the small container.

Put the snake in the container.

Put the lid on tightly.

Leave snake for a few hours or overnight.

This works like a charm.

If there is still stuck shed, repeat the process the next day.

I was having bad sheds with my 6 month old Fire. Her first few sheds were good. Then they all went bad. I would have to help her with her shed. Ran luke warm water and applied a tiny bit of pressure as she ran through my fingers. This last time I decided to help out before she had a bad shed. I have aspen bedding in my viv. Once I saw that she was in blue, I lightly misted her and wet the bedding a bit. I did this randomly maybe 3 times. She shed perfectly over the weekend whilst gone.
