So, my yearling Pewter snake, Petri, is having his first shed since I have had him, and he is having a horrible time!! Its all shaggy and not coming off nice at all! We saw he went blue and started giving him more humidity and moisture in his viv... I have him now in a rubber container with wet moss over his heated side of the tank, but I wonder what went wrong??And I'm not sure how to help him shed??

Just wanted to say, it seems like you did everything right. I've tried everything with my Ball python and he's never shed perfectly. Good luck with your baby!

Here is little Petri in his warm bath with his towel.. he seemed to kind of like it!! And it worked perfectly!! Sorry for the bad quality

Something that works well with hatchlings is making a damp moss bowl. You put a handful of slightly damp orchid moss in an open ceramic bowl- like those large ramekins you can buy at Target. Baby snakes love roosting on top. This works great for babies in shoebox-sized bins who don't have a lot of room, but are so enclosed that misting isn;t a good option.
