I was reading posts about feeding in blue an figured I would try it since he just went out of blue yesterday. well................. he shed last night. Not only that but it was a bad shed and he has a little left on his tell. My question is will it be OK to wait the 48 hours to handle him before I get the last bit off or should i try to do it now? And yes I have a humid hide for him an he was in it. so why the bad shed? My other two shed in the last two weeks an they looked great. Any help would be great.

i had the exact same problem with my young snake rocky what i did was leave him for about a day and a half....

then i decided i need 2 get the skin off so i put him in a tupperware with about 3 quarters of a cm of water in it and let him swinm round in that for about 5 mins then put him back in his viv and with in 30 mins he had got it off

In a word, yes. The danger from retained tail skin is that as the snake grows, the old skin will cut off the circulation in his tail, causing it to die and fall off. However, he won't grow that much in two days.
