Only thing I don't like about mine is the "Herpcages.com" plastered on the backside for the vent design. How'd you get yours to look normal? =P

And no lights? I noticed you didn't have their spacers.

those were a custom run with adjustable vents, for rainbow boas...
I installed rope light inside the cages for lighting...
and heat tape under the cage..

Say you were only keeping one corn snake. If you guys had a choice, would you go for a 48" cage, or stick with the 36"?

the 36x24x12 or 36x12x12 is more than enough room for a corn.. heck, even his 24x24x12 cage would work... but remember, corns are addicting.. you will be needing more than one cage eventually !!! lol
thats where stacking cages are nice...

Well I've got two of the 24 x 12 x 12's and for me they'd be too small for an adult corn snake, imho. Right now they house a 2 year old female and a yearling Baird's ratsnake. The 2yo corn is going to have to move out later this year.

Most of my adult corns are in 36 x 18 x 12 or so Sterilite tubs, and even then some make more use of the space than others. I have decided that when I convert all of my adult snakes over to their own doored vivs, they're going to get at least 48" of length. I think they would be so much more comfortable.

I just don't see the fascination with trying to save space when you're keeping live animals in them. They're not books or trinkets on a shelf. If you have hundreds of cornsnakes, that's one thing. But most people like me only have a couple handfuls of adults, if that. I believe mine enjoy their roomier quarters, as every time I'm in there, they're doing some sort of "lap" around the perimeter.

And no...I'm not one who thinks their snakes are happy living in a commune or anything like that. The snakes I have in roomy tubs seem to be more well-balanced than those that should be moved to something larger. ;)

Thanks for the responses. Tacaes - what makes you think the corns were uncomfortable in less than a 48" cage?
I'm not questioning your logic. I'm just trying to figure out for myself if a 48" cage is justified.

I guess one thing I can do is wait for my snake to grow up and stick him in a 36" sterolite. If he hates it, then I'll get a bigger cage. Might be a good idea to wait and just see how big my snake actually gets. :)
