Basic Questions. Need answers :)

Anyone know if you actually NEED a heatlamp for above heat, or does a Under tank heater work best? I've read that above heat-lamps can destroy your humidity, any responses?

Belly heat from a mat is preferable, I think. I use mats for all of mine. Corns need heat beneath them to digest. A lamp would provide overhead heat and a hot spot, but as Corns don't bask, this may not be ideal.

Heat lamps keep the ambient temperature in the tank up, but as the Corn lives at ground level (unless you provide a lot of climbing equipment), heating the air above it seems a bit pointless.

Whatever heat source you choose, remember to use a thermostat to control the temperature. An unregulated mat or lamp will easily get hot enough to cause burns.

Yeah true, besides ordering a good thermostat where would you guys suggest buying one, I know that BigAppleHerps.com sells them but i dont even know if they ship to Canada. Have any of you used a RheoStat from zoomed, they any good
?

I just ordered a bunch of stuff from thebeanfarm.com

I got some aspen, a UTH, a rheostat and a cheap temp probe

It came a few days ago and seems to all be in good working order to me!

Hmm, I did not like their site at all, sorry to say. Seems like they have quite a nice selection but the lay out for the site is terrible in my opinion. The prices and stuff are decent and stuff though. I would rather buy stuff from a canadian store though. Anyone know of any?
