Bathing a Corn snake? or herps in general?

Don't do it! Sheesh, look at the other thread on bathing that just popped up.

Well that other thread started I'm assuming because of this one. If you actually read my post I wasn't asking if I should do it. I was wondering if anyone else has because I've heard a couple people say it. I'm also not a newb, I've been taking care of herps for years, this topic seemed different, that's why I asked about it.

I'm the one that started the other thread, and I'm not a "newb" to herps. We have had king snake since I was a kid, but not corn snakes. We bathed our kings and was wondering abot cornsnakes. I soaked my corn and she seemed to enjoy it. Now everytime I put a fresh bowl of warm water in her viv, she soaks in it. So I'm not sure why everyone is saying snakes shouldn't be bathed? It will in no way hurt them...so why not if they enjoy it? I have heard of seasoned corn snake breeders doing this so I don't understand why it is a big deal and everyone thinks its a "newbie" question...It makes sense...?????

Well, Newb is a broad term...
Did you use the search function to look at the few pages of threads started about bathing Corns first to see if they answered your question before starting another? That's a usual sign that someone is a newb to the site. Have you checked to see if your Corn has mites? Which makes them want to soak, or that you have the right temps in the viv? It may be trying to thermal regulate. How warm is warm water? Don't forget warm to us is hot for them. That's where it hurts them. Yes, there are a couple reasons why some immerse their snakes in water, but it's not for fun, usually it's because they're egg bound or impacted. The "experienced" people who do this use thermometers to do it safely. Snakes don't have emotions, they don't "enjoy", those are emotions people put on animals. If dumped in the ocean, you don't swim for fun, you swim to keep from drowning...

My snake doesn't have mites, I check monthly for mites and any other things that could be wrong. And yes I used a thermomenter but I wasn't sure if corns and kings needed to be bathed in different temperatures of water.

And IDK why she gets in the warm water, but she does and she gets out when it starts cooling off. So either she likes it, or is doing it cause she is about to shed(which she is.)

My temps are perfect on both the warm side and the cool side and don't change very much.

Also, I am a newbie to this site, but not snakes in general. Just corns. So i'm not completely senseless.
