That is a very good price. The pet stores around here sell them for like $90 and they are much smaller than that. Mine does the same thing when I put him on his leash and take him outside...he gets so vibrantly colored.
 
Pintsize is so cute. Another thing to try with the veggies is to chop them in a food processor so it's really tiny pieces (but not paste) and then drop her moving food on top. She'll get at least a little veggie in her diet and it will be harder to pick out her favorites.

This worked really well with my parakeets who wouldn't touch a veggie with someone else's beak. Gradually the pieces got bigger and now I can throw anything in there and it's a feathered feeding frenzy.
 
I didnt let Pintsize eat any bugs. but it was fun watching her try. I had read about all the bad stuff out side bugs can have. The people that we bought him from gave us a nice little care sheet that they put together and they told us to keep him paper towels for at least the first couple months. So Pintsize is on paper towels. We are going to get some different greens for her on monday when we go to get groceries. i try to offer her different things here and there to find out what she likes.
