" Beasties and Bosses " - 24.march.2008

Today my GF and I went to "Beasties and Bosses" (Beestjes en Baasjes) in Ghent.
It's a "show" with all kinds of animals.
We've seen dogs, cats, lama's, rats, chinchilla's, horses, spiders and ofcourse
REPTILES !!

First up are 2 cornsnakes I saw.
A normal and a Amel motley. (yearlings)

Those are um.. Tegus not monitors.. though. Argentine B&W and Red, I believe.
I love the dumerils and boas....

Didn't know. I thought they were monitors.

There was a sandboa too,
but couldn't take a shot of him.

Just for the record:

If anyone knows some specific names of the animals in these pictures,
feel free to post them.
I would love to know what kind of snake the first one in post #7 is.

Ok if you look at the lizard sticking his head up in the next to the last photo....I think he has the coolest head. His head looks just like a Velocaraptor (sp?) from Jurassic Park. LOL
I also really like that ATB. You took some great photos. Thanks for sharing. I love the natural look of the enclosures.

I think Jurassic Park would be a tad less scary with these guys instead of Velociraptors

The gecko in pic # 8 is Golden Gecko, fun little guys! I could swear the last two are Uromastyx/ Ornate Uromastyx though?

The Uromastyx is a genus of lizard whose members are better-known as Spiny-tailed lizards
[we call it "Doornstaart agaam"]
