Becoming FedEx Certified?

So today I got my waiver in my email and now I just have to sign it and send it through a fax. I hope the fedex office is open on Saturday so I can do it tomorrow. I have one question for those that are certiified already....after certification how do go about doing the shipments in general? Do you use a bank account to take in payments from yr customers or set up a pay pal account to recieve payments from those that buy a baby snake or lizard from you? Do you have them pay for the pet or products before you send the package to them or how do you do that? I mean I have some income coming in but I wouldn't be able to front all the shipping costs and cost of the animal before recieving payment from the buyer so I guess I will have to set up some kind of account to receive payment from my customers and wait tell I got those payments before I could send them the animals they are buying. And how does pay pal work? I mean do they put the money in your regular bank account or something? What methods work for you? Thanks for any tips and suggestions on how to do this. I'm all new at this shipping thing so hope to get some feedback.

YAY!! Now you are only a few days away. I would set up a paypal account. Then the customer would pay for the snake and shipment upfront. You can request a paypal debit card that you can have fedex charge that card automatically.

It's too bad you didn't have a rep. I sent my package and got it back so that I didn't waste the heat pack or the box. My rep gave me his number to ship it so it was free and he helped with all the paperwork. I honestly have no idea who my rep is now. I had Rob in California and then he was transferred to a new area. I still referred people to him for years and he'd help them even if they weren't in his area. I always asked the people to send a thank you to him and send a note to his boss to let him know how helpful he was......I MISS ROB!!

I've created a website for my corn snake venture/business. And I checked out paypal and have created a business merchant paypal account...although I'm not really a business yet. I don't know if that is okay to do on pay pal but I did it. I don't really have a actual business, not yet anyhow because I want to see how this is going to work first before I decide to do all the legal stuff with getting a business name and Business identification number and tax number and all that stuff. I don't know how all that part of it works but I am eventually going to do it if this works out. I just want to do a trial run this coming spring when I start breeding my 3 females with my two males that I currently have. I know this year was my very first year breeding my corn snakes and I only got one clutch of eggs that successfully hatched. The other two clutches I lost.

I was not able to send my fax on Saturday because I was not feeling good and did not get up in time to make a trip to the fedex office. So I am planning on going over there on Monday after my class and getting it faxed to them then. I hope everything else goes smoothly for me. X yr fingers for me and wish me luck.

So, I went to class today having not even gone to bed, and I had a test in that class. So that wasn't to good. After I got done with my test though, I went to FedEx and they told me I could not fax from there to go to office depot. But instead i went to a Kroger grocery store that I was sure did faxes for customers and they did. So I went and sent my waiver signed by me through fax. Then came home and wrote email to who I thought it might have gone to and found the right persons. Emily Moore and Tina Britton I think are the two I am dealing with. But anyway got an email reply from Emily pretty quickly saying she did get the fax of the waiver. But that was all she said in it. Then later on tonight like a few minutes ago, I checked it again and Tina Britton had replied and said I should be able to ship within the day or so. Yepeeeeee! I am so happy, happy, happy, happy. Lol! Yah!

Ha ha Their legal department can't be that big. Those are the two ladies in legal that I dealt with as well.

Thanks~I can't wait now until this spring when I'll have some babies to ship! I do have two more people buying the ones I have left now. And will only have 1 left that is sellable. I'm glad I didn't have any problems with getting certified.

I think it is becoming easier to become certified, Thank goodness. I didn't have any problems either but it seems that just about everyone else went through the ringer.

I know , I've read a lot about other people trying to get certified and about all the trouble they had doing it. So , I feel very lucky not to have had any.

I know huh? I was nervous when I did mine. Then when I got the email that said I could ship now I almost didn't believe it.

I haven't heard anything back today on that I can ship yet but hope too by tomorrow. Been checking my email like every two hours or so and it's driving me nuts. I'm really hope to hear something soon. I just sold another baby corn this afternoon. The guy has a really nice setup for the baby hypo I sold him. So it should have a great life. Now I am down to 1 normal baby left that is sellable. Then i have 2 that hasn't eaten , one still not at all on it's own and the other just ate for the first time on it's own 3 days ago so hope it continues to do so.

I'm all set and ready to go! All was approved and now I can ship. I'm getting so excited I don't know if I'm going to wait until Spring to start breeding or not I might end up doing it before then. I know they can breed anytime during the year. And they are all very healthy and at good weight. But I'm not sure yet. I do know I'm very excited about this shipping thing.
Anyhow...I just got registered as a ACR Breeder so I should have ACR breeder # here in a few weeks. And at the beginning of the year I will get an annual membership so I can register all my snakes that I have and will have.
Just wanted to ask how to take those ACR Registry symbols off their website and get it onto here and to my own website? I tried taking the image from website to desktop then pasting the image into my website but every time I tried that it would delete the image after publishing the page on my website and it would not be there anymore? Also wanted to know how to come design a mini banner?

I know when I became a registered breeder of rats, that the registry symbols were sent to me in an e-mail after I registered with them... I don't know if that is the same though.

Congrats again!

To get an ACR registered breeder logo off of their site I saved it to an images folder on my computer. Then inserted it as an image onto my website.

For a mini banner, just open whatever graphics software you use and set the dimensions to a maximum 200px wide and 19px high. You aren't going to be able to put much in the way of graphics on a banner that small as the detail will be lost so keep it pretty simple.

if I were to sell a snake and I'm not Fed Ex certified, could I go thru shipyourreptile?

I have one I'm considering selling but I don't know what is required to send one.

Thanks!
