Has anyone used straw for bedding? Is this a good idea or not?
Also, There seems to be alot of conflicting info on temps..
What is the ideal temp (day/night) and how do i tell if my corn is happy with the temp?

I have never used straw for snakes, I have used it for horses! :)
I personally like aspen and I use paper towels as well as news paper on occasion. you will however get a bunch of opinions on the subject ;)
As far as temps are concerned there are a few opinions on that too! Here is mine... first I like to have a gradient so that the snake can regulate his temp, having said this I try to maintain a range of about 78 degrees to about 87 degrees.
I hope this helps!

I havn't used straw but imagine you would be better off using a propper snake substrate like asphen or the products like repti bark (asphen my prefered choice).
As to heating i keep mine at between 82-86 f for the warm end during the day and 78-82 during the night, with the cool end going with the room temps, which is usually about 74-76 during the day & 70 ish for night time depending on how cold it get's (I live in the sunny UK).
