I love paper towels. They are clean and cheap, and it is easy to spot poop right away. I don't think they look bad, just unnatural.
My babies like to lie under the paper towels and hide like that.
Yes I use aspen bedding also... but I know alot of People who use papertowels... its a easy clean and soaks up the poop like... like a paper towel... I dont see anything wrong with using PT... there afordable and you can always use the cardboard inside for a hide when you use up your PT on the role!!!
Just make sure you put a few layers of the stuff down or else nasty things will leak all over the floor of the viv..
I've just this minute got twenty litres of aspen through the post. Twenty litres is not a lot!! From looking at the bags, it seems that there is about enough to fill just one viv. I'll have to order some more. Well, that was sort of off topic- sorry, just needed to complain..
EDIT: OK, so I've tested out the aspen by putting it in one the empty vivs and I have been fooled!! Twenty litres of aspen doesn't look like much but it is enough, at least for two vivs. I'll order another five litres and that should be more than enough for my three new vivs.
I've decided that I like aspen even though I haven't started using it yet. I like it because it looks very good and I can fill a viv for about £3.50. I was to use Calci-Sand for my vivs it would cost £20 each!!
