I have read a number of places and most say Aspen for viv bedding i also have herd of coconut and i have seen where they have even had river rocks I am using newspaper at the moment I want to make a more decrative viv but keep it at the most healthy and happy for the snake and easiest for me to clean. So any input would greatly be apreciated!

ohh i had also read that aspen wasn't advised for hatchlings?? any opinions on that??
 
I'm swapping to Aspen from corn cob next week. The thing to look out for is that the snake doesn't actually ingest substrate when feeding. One method to make sure is to take the snake out for feeding although I leave mine in the tank and use a large flat feeding dish that came with the water bowl and put the mouse right in the middle.

So far he's always eaten right off the plate rather than dragging the mouse onto the substrate
