Hey :)

I got my corn snake last sunday, but have a few questions about her behaviour etc :p
(She's 7 months old now)

I fed her last sunday, and she happily took it down ^^
But she has yet to poop :( (But doesn't have any ireggular lumps etc)
Thing is, she last shed on the 29th of December.. So could she be pre-shed? She has grey spots all over around her body.. But she's a red/yellow morph with red eyes.. So will they go blue? :S

Also, is there a maximum to how long she should be out? I'll take her out for 15 minutes, try to put her back and she tries to achor herself on me and stay on me.. She isn't stressed at all, and is happy to sit and explore my arm (She was the most handled corn supposedly)
So, she ends up being out for around 45 minutes before she seems to get a little stressed.. Is that good/bad? :S

Sorry for the long questions.. I'm just worried about my little friend :(

Cheers :licklips:

What kind of substrate are you using for your corn? If it's aspen, she may have pooped already, just you haven't noticed :p

Are you sure the grey spots aren't just stuck on shed pieces?
Although, considering the last time she shed was the end of december, she could be starting to go into shed again. Maybe you could try to get some pictures so that it's more clear to us what the grey spots are? :shrugs:

I guess as long as she doesn't seem stressed when you have her out, it shouldn't be too much of a problem how long you have her out.

I'm using dark brown wood chip style things (But not wood chips.. They're not square, or as rough etc.. I don't know the real name :()

I tried to feed her again today, but she didn't want it.. She just ran back in her house :(

Also.. I came up to find that she had burrowed underneath her water bowl.. Something she's never done before.. Could she be associated sitting in her house as me easily disturbing her?

I just want to make sure everythings ok for her :(

I'll get a good picture of her sometime soon.. But any ideas on what could be happening? Shedding time? :S

Maybe it's ReptiBark you're using? :shrugs: Just a guess.... Maybe you should try switching to paper towels or newspaper for a while, just so that you get used to what her poop looks like so you'll be able to easily spot it when you're using the more aesthetically pleasing substrate.

Regarding the feeding, most people here take their snakes out of their home viv and use a seperate, simple container as a feeding bin. It could be anything from a shoebox with some paper towel on the bottom, or you could go out to Wal-Mart or something and pick up a plastic bin and lay paper towels in it. You can feed her in that bin, and when she's finished eating, just place her gently back into her viv.

Some snakes will burrow anywhere and everywhere if their substrate allows them to. It's not uncommon to find your snake under her water bowl, she'll be okay.

There IS a possibility that she may be in shed. Usually corns are very reclusive during this time and some corns may refuse to eat when they're in shed. Pictures would help a bunch though :)

Hope I helped you a bit!
