Bella's getting so big!!

Bella is already 10 months old!! Now that she is eating small adult mice she is growing so fast!! She is as of a week ago 193g!! She's super healthy and such a loving sweetheart!! I love her so much and she's honestly the best pet I've ever had! See how big she is now[emoji2]

Whoa! 10 months and 193 grams? Whatta ya got in the water over there, hamburger? My Ozzy is 10 months and a measly 110 grams and here I thought he was voracious! Well, I am slightly crushed to find out my guy is a wuss compared to Bella!

How often do you feed her? Ozzy is on hoppers weekly but he may be a she (I am too much of a wuss to try to sex him/her myself, as I don't want to injure my snake by accident!). But now that I mention that, I'm wondering, do females grow quicker than males? I have 3 adult corns and the female was largest while growing but topped out at 3 feet while both males are about 5 feet and growing, or it seems!

Just curious. Bella is beautiful by the way (her name actually MEANS beautiful in Italian, so she lives up to her name!)

I'm with axis1, my two year olds are barely bigger than this!
Wow, big girl! She looks great though! And I hear ya on the best pet part. Dogs and cats are so much work in comparison, and fish are cool but I like a pet I can touch. I kinda wish I had gotten into snakes a lot sooner.

 Tequila was a whole 54g at 10 months! Are you guys sure you don't have steroid junky mice?

Bella is stunning though. Good job. :)

All these people with monster corns and here I am with a '14 at just over 100g, a late' 15 who just passed the 20g mark, and a '13 refusing food that's lost about 30g. At least Tango is a "normal" 83g at 10 mo. XD

Well it is entirely possible that she was older than they told me at the pet store!! She eats small adult f/t once a week! I am starting to think she may be a he but am not even slightly capable of sexing her myself so I may never know!! She is huge though and I will quickly be switching her to every 10 days, then every 2 weeks!! I don't want her to be one of those fat unhealthy corns

I wouldn't worry too much about it, she looks perfectly healthy just really big! lol.

Also I acquired Tequila at around 10 months .. .from a pet store ... that was still feeding her pinkies .... every 2 weeks. She looked about like V but the other way up. Bella, fortunately never had to go through that because she has you. :)

... and now I am going to go outside for a while. I did not realize I still had so much anger about the state my snake was in when I got her.

A friend of mine has a corn that was over 160g at a year, and while I haven't seen an update on Slinky in a while, I imagine he's somewhere around 300g and also about 10 months old. I'm just jealous of these naturally-fast-growing snakes!

Rufus is only 5 months older than Bella and he weighed in yesterday at 228 grams and he's eating Large mice. He's only 15 months old. I guess Bella and Rufus come from the "Bigger" genes.

Congratulations on Bella! She looks great and you're doing fine with her. I have just one question, is that "Her" Journal or Your's? Have you taught her to hold a pen and write?

And what about Otis? How is he doing these days?

Bella looks beautiful. Looks like she is doing awesome!

They all grow at their own rates. Cleo is just nine months and pushing 80 grams, lol.

Otis is still struggling to gain weight but on pinkies I guess that's pretty normal!! I try to feed him every 5 days but he refuses and would much rather only eat once a week!! He is at 18g though so he has gained a little!! He's a very handsome boy but I wish he would eat better!! I have come to the conclusion that I expected more from him than I should have because I was always comparing him to Bella, who is a pig!! He is 7 months old though so 18g is kind of scary!! He seems healthy and energetic and the vet didn't find anything wrong though so I'm just chocking it up to a slow grower!!!

Don't be discouraged. It's a known fact that a full grown Adult Corn snake can be anywhere from 3 feet long to 6 feet long. A lot of it is Genetics and has nothing to do with feeding or you personally. It could very well be that Bella is one of the "Bigger" corn snakes and Otis may just be one of the "Smaller" types. Just like some people are barely over 4 feet tall and some are nearly 7 feet tall regardless of what they eat. Snakes are like that too.

Well that's a good way to look at it and put me a little more at ease about the whole thing!! Thank you!! Hopefully Otis will grow up to be a healthy adult!!
