Best heat mat brand

I currently have a T-Rex Cobra heat mat, which seems to work well. But I've heard that a lot of people prefer the ExoTerra Heat Wave mats. LINKED HERE

I have the Zoo Med mats on my 10's, and I don't really like them. They get way too hot and they are permanently attached, so if I wanted to convert one of my 10's from frogs to a fish aquarium, I'd have a heat mat still attached. So I'm not interested in Zoo Med.

I'd like to eventually be able to run several cages off of one thermostat, so before I go and purchase another T-Rex Cobra for my new 20 long, could I hear some opinions on the two brands?? Which is best for corns and milks, the T-rex cobra or the ExoTerra Heat Wave?

I use zoo med but I attach them to a piece of glass or tile so that I just have to move the tanks and not the heaters. Then it won't matter if you upgrade in size, you just put the new tank over the existing heater.

I have ExoTerra Heatwave Deserts on both of my tanks. I switched from ZooMed. I tested both for max temps before putting anything in the tanks and the ZooMed got to 120 degrees. The ExoTerra got a little over 100. I have to use a higher setting on my rheostat to achieve the same temp with the Exoterra as I did with the ZooMed. I figure if anything went wacky and it ended up getting full continuous power before I could shut it off, the ExoTerras would be safer than the ZooMeds. They do equally good jobs, though.

Meg, that's a really smart idea, putting the heater on a tile or something. I'll have to remember that next time I set up a new cage.

Flexwatt all the way. ~$8-9, all ready to go on Reptile Basics. You add the actual flexwatt ($3.40 per foot for 11"x12") to the shopping cart, then the wire/clip/insulator set ($5.00), and Rich will wire it for you if you request it in the comments box on checkout. I use it, and it functions perfectly! Of course, always use a thermo/rheostat, but you already knew that. ;)

Flexwatt here and i personaly dont use there clips i just solder the cable to the flexwatt
