Best substrate is aspen, looks natural, easy to spot clean, snakes love to hide in it and its non toxic, however newspaper also works just as well and much less expensive, although not as pleasing to the eye...
NEVER use cedar, or pine shavings, these are extremely toxic to corns

Hiding spots, should always have at least 2, one at the warm end, one at the cool end, these can be fancy pet store hides or just a toliet roll tube, either way your snake wont mind.

I wouldnt advise feeding live, if the snake is not hungry the mouse can easily inflict serious damage on the snake or even kill it...

Snakes dont require lighting, just heat, and one way to do so is using a UTH or heat lamps, NEVER heat rocks... they can cause vent burns which could seriously harm the snake... temperatures at the cool side should be between 72 and 76... temps at the warm end should be between 80 - 84 degrees or well thats how mine always are.

For a corn snake a 20 gallon tank is ok for their whole lives, but its through personal choice to get a bigger tank :)

Hope this helps
