best kind of corn snake

Hehe, yeah. The ones that stay healthy.
Other than that, I don't think there is "a best kind of corn snake," just the kind you think looks the best.
I personally like Blizzards, Amels and Pewters.

I agree with the above statements: one that eats!

I like Amels, snows, and lavenders a whole ton.

To my knowledge there are no personality or health related issues with the various morphs, so it's really up to you.

I think the snakes that are most consistantly gorgeous to me, in each general category, is:

Normals:
Okettee [Nice thick borders, I tend to see brighter colors also, lovely]

Amels:
Sunglow [bright, sunny colors, no unsightly blotches of semi-white, always gorgeous]

Anerys:
Ghost or Hurricane [I just like them better. Some ghosts are gorgeous light brown loveliness and hurricanes are beautiful]

Whatever you'd like to call the general category for aneryamels:
Butter (a lot of them are beautifulbeautiful, and they are a bit unsusual. I also like colorful snows though, or all white blizzards.)

It's up to you. (-: Whatever you do, pick a snake that you love and that you have an idea what it will look like as an adult so you can estimate if you'll love the colors then too! Try checking out the morphs subforum and look at the sticky to find what the most common morphs are, then do a site search on each one. You'll find something that strikes you, I'm sure. (-:

hehe, one that eats!

Well its all personal prefernce isn't it, and mine is normals/classic/okeetee

Partly because i only have one corn, and .... its a normal ;)

and my other reason is cos i reckon if an individual from each morph was placed in the wild, then a normal/classic and possibly an anery/ghost are the only morphs likely to survive, and not be picked off by predators, ie. amels and albinos will stand out a mile away :grin01:

What do you guys think?

Well, if you avoid Sunkissed's anyway. They are pretty universally known to be unfriendly, regardless of handling.

Other than that, generally everyone bases their preference on appearance, so you are as equipped to judge as the rest of us. Although, one reason I like Okeetees is that they generally get bigger then the designer morphs, or so I am told.

I don't the genetics but i don't think that color morphs and size morphs are tied together that much. as far as snakes go i'd have to say corns are all reletively docile depending on their past treatment/care.

I personally like anery's, all stripes, bloods and crimsons

But I wouldn't descriminate by colors if it had a great attitude and feeding record.

No, it was meant as a joke. Corn snake feeding issues are rare compared to other colubrids, but stubborn ones do show up from time to time. Make sure you buy from a reputable source and be sure that the snake has fed several times (if it's a hatchling). Corns are a great first snake, regardless of the morph.

That and, a free one! :sidestep:

I have a couple of those in our inventory one of which is our biggest corn "Zuko". He is over 5 1/2' and over 1000 grams. But I would have to say that my favorite morph would be a Hypo Lavender Pewter Snow Caramel Stripe :sidestep:
Jay
