Best Substrate with UTH

Thanks for the responses I got a thermostat coming and once again there was no need to get disrespectful because I didn't start anything.

I think you will find that around here, you don't just get respect, you have to earn it. And you earn it by showing that you are willing to go the distance in caring for your snake. I think the hostilities in this case were initiated by you when you called people who were trying to assist you "hypes" with no life. Oddly enough, people do take offense at that. :shrugs:

Actually you all are assuming I don't care for my snake, but I got him well kept right now in the right temps. I'm just saying this website stuff is what you take too seriously. I won't disrespect nobody unless I am provoked.

Well done for buying a thermostat  However I'm sorry but I just don't see anyone being disrespectful...

What you have to remember here is that if someone recommends you get this or do that, we are trying to help your snake. There's no need to feel offended. I've seen nobody being disrespectul or "getting smart." All I've seen is people thinking of your snake's welfare. Maybe - and I'm trying to be helpful here - you should read over your posts before you hit Submit. Try and think how the post looks to someone who doesn't know you. $40 is NOTHING in comparison to the wellbeing of a living creature. Pointing this out is not "taking it too seriously." Whatever you meant by those posts, they didn't come across too well and that resulted in what you percieved to be negative responses. A little thought goes a long way and a calmer more appreciative attitude will likely result more in the kind of help you were looking for.

At the stage of already owning a corn, you shouldn't really be asking questions about what type of substrate to use. A lot of the questions you're asking are very basic and you could easily find your own answers with a little research. I'm not saying don't ask questions; but at least run a search first. This is actually better for you and your snake, as it saves you time and allows you to learn about your snake quicker. Just remember that nobody here is obliged to help you; respect goes both ways. Getting at people who don't say exactly what you want to hear, when you actually asked for opinions - sorry, but it's just not going to happen :shrugs:

Nicely said, Plissken

I think it was me that might of got things heated here.
Sorry but I think I'm allow to voice my opinions on a discussion forum about the safety of an animal!

Referring to the highlighted statement above.
I learn alot from reading over old post doing searches and learn MORE than I was seeking, breeding information, morphs (still learning) and so on.
It's all here! I do think (my opinion) that all of the question have been asked!
Just check out the archives at the very bottom right of screen!
OK I done.

I'll admit to getting a bit..um...enthusiastic ( ?) about this...its just that I work in a reptile shop and there are far too many people coming into the shop that dont have a thermostat and arent willing to pay out to get one....and it just bugs me. Anyway...the matter has been solved...for now... :sidestep:

I don't have a termostate on either of my UTHs. I have them on rheostats, though. I do check them very frequently to make sure everything is OK.
