I totaly agree fish are NO fun at all they just swim around. I love pets that you can interact with otherwise what is the point?

Fish are more of a watching pet and are very soothing to own. If you have the right setup, it really is an interactive hobby.
When I had my reef tank running my hands were in there every day. I would have cleaner shrimp come up to my hands and clean them. I even had a cleaner wrasse that would check my hands as well.
I find it also a hobby that is user friendly as well. Many people who would not own a tank would watch it for hours unlike my herps.
 
My cichlids will chase a laser pointer around their tank. The first time, we were just playing with the kitty, and realized (on accident) that the fish would chase the pointer too. It's actually very fun to "play" with them.

Personally, I think that pets are to be played with. But many people on here do not consider their snakes to be "pets." It's a collection. Some types of snakes you can't handle. For instance, I wouldn't exactly consider a hot to be a pet. It's a specimen, an interest, a hobby. And therein lies the difference between pet owners and hobbyists. :shrugs:

Sounds like the Munson plan is a great place to start - and only handling once a week til he's bigger.

I'm abit of both, pet owner and hobbyist, I enjoy having them out and interacting with them, but I also enjoy watching them and researching there natural history, I see a lot of tank toys for snakes things like decorative skulls and tubes ect.. But I just prefer to fill mine with logs and plants :D

Everything about a snake IMO is amazing.
