Hi CS community!!
Some of you know that I've just won a scholarship offered by the Okinawan (Japan) government that will allow me to study at the Ryukyu University there for one year. It's completely paid for (tuition, room and board, flight and an allowance) by the Okinawan government and I'll be leaving in the first week of April.
I have so much to do before I leave, namely getting the snakes squared away with my boyfriend, securing a student visa and packing up my apartment and sorting things out of what I want to take, what I'll be storing with my boyfriend and what I will be taking back to my mom's house in Pennsylvania.
The last thing I'm trying to get settled is communication back home to the US. My cousin in Okinawa (I'm half and grew up there so I have a lot of family and friends on the island) is getting me a mobile phone for use within the country but for calls back home, I've set up a skype account for video calls with my boyfriend and with my parents.
My question (after this long explanation- thanks for reading!) is if any of you use skype video and if so, what type of webcam do you use?
I currently have a "creative" webcam thing but it was really cheap and the image keeps freezing when I test it out. I've been looking into the "Logitech" series reading reviews etc, but I'm having trouble choosing one.
Does anyone here have any suggestions of a good quality webcam? Audio is unnecessary as I have a good quality mic and speaker.
Thanks for reading!!
EDIT:: If anyone is interested in keeping up- I've created a livejournal account for my year in Okinawa. The page is http://ryudaimck.livejournal.com/ (it's a public profile so you don't need an account to read it)
EDIT:: And if anyone in the Boston/NH area would like a couple of pet rats (both males) please let me know! I'll give you their cage, wheel and them for free!! They're both very sweet (still pretty young) and beautiful! One is a rex with the curly hair and curly whiskers and the other is a blue dumbo!! If anything, my roommate will take them back but they would probably be living in a rat breeder cage with her as she doesn't have much room for anything else in her snake/rat room...
