I found this colorful Eastern Tiger Salamander on a cool Saturday morning a few weeks ago. These guys can get quite big 10 to 13 inches in length. At that size they could eat a small pinkie.

 
So cute! I remember catching salamanders when I was a kid. I would find them under boards and logs after a good spring rain.
 
Awww! My son is really wanting to find one of these. We have heard they cross a somewhat local road sometime in late September/October after a good rain, so we'll be checking later this fall!

I really enjoy your picture threads, especially since you are in WI!
