Big Apple Herp UTH & Thermostat???

I have the thermostat and I really dont recommend it. It is very touchy. Like if you nudge the dial, not even click it to the next temp setting, but just nudge it, it will turn on/off. It also doesn't seem to have the fail safe they are advertising. I woke up one morning to find the probe had been knocked loose and the temps in my tanks were at 112 because it just kept on heating!
Other people on here told me to try this one from Bean Farm since they havent had any issues with it. http://beanfarm.com/product_info.php?cPath=1238&products_id=5685
 
I'd recommend against that thermostat as well. The previous model worked very well, but I had a failure with one of the current models. I like the Alife from Bean Farm if you have to go cheap, and HerpStat if you want top of the line, no worries, excellent customer service.

But I _do_ like the probed thermometers that Big Apple sells, provided you change the batteris if you start to get unexpected temps. I use those exclusively. Be careful you are looking at the current reading, though, not max or min.
 
Thanks for the great advise. :) The Alife Reptile Electronic Temperature Controller looks good. Has anyone else used Alife thermostats?
