Bite club....

Desperate to Edit
Week, my boa just tagged me pretty good. I was just handling him and he seemed fine, but then he decided to strike. Let go pretty quick, but drew blood. He's been... off since I had to give him antibiotic shots during mite treatment. It's entirely possible that he only seemed sweet because he was sick, though, as far as I know.

Lol, I know it's not very serious. XD he's a little guy and it didn't bother me much. Still. XD

He's got me over 3 fingers, though, and I didn't think you take the pic until after I washed my hands. *shrug*

This is why people should not be allowed to own large snakes. They're very dangerous!

I had to actually zoom in on my phone to see the little drop of blood!

Exactly, right? XDDD He surprised me more than anything. When I said he tagged me pretty good, I meant pretty good for his size. XD

I'm still trying to figure out exactly why he did it. I'm starting to think he was just cranky, though. XD

I'm dreading the day I join the bite club. Something tells me adult boa is a bit worse than baby boa or corn.

I don't even count bites from little corns... it's like Velcro. Full-size large boas and pythons can do some serious damage, though; I'm glad Martok probably won't ever reach full size (he was badly underfed for his first three years). Frankly, I'm surprised he managed to break the skin. He's only maybe five pounds, tops. It didn't even hurt, really. XD

My boa is a little over 2 pounds and I wouldn't want to be bit by her ... but hey, if yours is about 5 pounds and that's what you got, I guess I won't worry too much. Mine was also underfed. She's 3 years and 1025 grams last I weighed her a month or so ago. I got her at the end of February and am working her up to more appropriate-sized food items.
