Just a quick question for any long-time boa keepers that might read this. Is it normal for the boys to get really nervous and jumpy around mating season, even if there are no females around (well, no boid females, anyway)? My BCI is about 3, and all of a sudden this spring he's been really touchy and bitey.
The other thing I was thinking it might be is not being able to sleep well. He had pretty much outgrown his old hide, so I just gave him a new bigger one. He still fit in his old log, but was starting to stick out a bit, so maybe he's just over-tired from not being able to sleep sound enough lately?
Or, maybe I just smell like a rat all of a sudden, lol.
I am becoming more used to his teeth in my flesh, so guess I can deal with this if it's temporary. If he doesn't cheer up, I'm thinking of getting his bite mark tattoo'd on my arm so maybe it'll trick him into thinking he already tagged me :crazy02:
