so i've already tried searching the beloved forums & Interwebs for an answer before making this post & haven't come across anything yet.
this coming Christmas i know i'll be getting a nice new terrarium for my "little" corn snake, but was looking to blackout both side glass panels.... the back has a background insert. while i would want something non-toxic so i could use it on the inside, to keep my corn from seeing his reflection, i want to make sure that it's safe for my snakes health before doing anything.
right now, i'm using the 4-sided cardboard piece that came around my current terrarium to set around either side & the back while the piece for the front can be removed or placed to help block majority of the light from the rest of my room.
all that said, my question is, has anyone come a cross a safe way to blackout glass for a snake terrarium?... standard window tint? a certain type of paint or stain?
or would it just be better to replace the glass panels with something like a solid black plastic/acrylic?
i'm not looking to spend a fortune, but i do want this to look nice for many years to come so i'm willing to weigh my options... i just need to know what they are first LOL
thank you all in advance who give helpful tips!!
