boa temperatures

i went to tinley yesterday with my family and my girlfriend and we had a great time. my little brother got an anery kenyan sand boa and i got a pastel red tail boa. we got them all set up at home but we're having trouble with our warm side temperatures. my warm side needs to be around 90 but its at 98 right now. my little brother's also should be around 90 but his was at 106. we're both using a uth and an overhead lamp for heat. how can we get the temperatures down to a more suitable range?

Well if you have a UTH and a light, turn one off. Then move the lamp up higher off the tank and put a thermostat on the UTH to keep the temp steady.

Get rid of the overhead heat, as its useless for digestion, only really used to keep ambient temperatures up for boas, just use the heat pad, make sure you take the temperature from where the UTH meets the glass.
