I have had Bono (late 05 abbots okeetee) since the beginning of Jan. There were some problems with regurge's in 3 of the 10 feedings he has had since I obtained him. Once, I think cause I feed too soon after a prior feeding. Once, cause of handling too soon...although it had been 2 1/2 days. Once, I can't really say why...maybe to large of a pinky. Anyway, my concern is that he hasn't really grown any since I have had him, and I am afraid to speed his feeding schedule up, or go to larger prey items. At what point should he hit a growth spurt? He was piped on Sept 30th of 2005.

Pinkes are not as nutritional as Fuzzies and above, If he's still on pinkies, he won't grow as much from them as he will when he starts on fuzzies, He should really start growing then.
 
How long should I leave him on pinky's. I am afraid that a fuzzy might be to big around. Bono is long 19" but just a bit thicker than a round pencil.
 
You could probably afford to try out a small fuzzy on him. One that is just about one and a half times the size of him at his thickest part. If you really don't think he is ready for that, try feeding him 2 or three pinky's at each feeding.

One thing that really helps regurgers alot, and I do for all my corns, is slitting the skin of the mice you feed them. Just take a razor and slit the skin. It helps the corn digest more of the mouse faster. The skin is the toughest part of the mouse and it may have too difficult a time getting to the insides of it.

Also, you may want to consider using nutribac or grape seed extract to strengthen your corns stomach. Do a search on the two to figure out how to use and where to get them.

I do both already. Slit the backs, and sprinkle nutribac on. I haven't tried two pinkies yet though...not a bad idea at all. Roy suggested the same in another post. I just want to get some girth on him, so he doens't look so fragile. He's healthy and all, but just looks thin to me.

Ok well then it sounds like you are on the right track definitly. I have never really move any corns up from one pinky straight to a fuzzy before. pinkys are so little are do not offer all that much nutrition wise, that I find it takes a few two pinky feedings before a corn is ready for a fuzzy. I'd say, by the time you think your corn is ready for three pinky's, its time to move it to fuzzy's. Hope that helped :)
 
see if you can find peach fuzzies...they're smaller than regular fuzzies and dont have white fur yet. they're basically a really large pinky but a little more developed so they have a little more nutrition than a pinky.
i tried to give Blaze a fuzzy and he regurged it. and he was too big for one pinky. so i fed him two pinkies and now i'm giving him peach fuzzies. and he's grown a lot since then. soon i will try a fuzzy on him again.
 
Are you sure that's not the flavor of the fuzzy? Kidding, I think I know just where to get such a thing. Thanks for all the advice.
