A friend of mine as 9 of these Of the Louisiana Box turtles in his yard that he has save from dog bits, hit by car some where giving up after they no longer wanted them. These are legally to own in louisiana

They are breeding with him, but a king snake eat most of his eggs this year.
 
Sometimes I miss living in Louisiana. Having grown up a swamp rat, it is easier for me to find snakes in Louisiana than it is out here in NM.
 
I know what you mean. My later childhood that preteen and up was next to a river and swamp then we moved it was next to the same rive, but there was a creek and woods. I kind of miss it beening in the City. I never brought home to many reptiles becouse my mother would have skin me alive.
 
That's cool! They're in all in the type of habitat that I see boxies in in the wild. Low, leafy plants are perfect cover.
How much of his yard did he have to give up for them?
