A while back I reported one of our everglade rat snakes had eaten his cage mate. Well, I was completely wrong on that. This morning as I was making lunch for my work day, I went in the cabinet below our counter in the kitchen. What a surprise it was to find the missing Rat snake sitting there looking up at me. Scared the heck out of me!!! Snakes continue to amaze me. Yet another survive that has traversed from the upstairs to downstairs in a house that is patolled by two very curious cats. They are worse then children when it comes to misbehaving. :crazy02:

Sometimes, the cats can help. There's been more than one occasion that my cat has found my snake for me. I'm just glad she knows better then to mess with them. But if they are stuck on a shelf or hidden in a closet or cabinet, she lets me know. Kinda like a scent hound. :) I'm glad to hear that you found your snake though. The fun part is keeping it from getting out again now that it knows how. :)

That`s great news. How long was it missing since I have a Rat snake missing for about five weeks now and I keep looking and hoping he/she`s ok. :shrugs:

We never knew it was missing. Thought his cage mate had ate him. But get this, the little bugger is on the run again. I checked his cage this morning and he was in there. My husband checks it this afternoon and he's gone again. I swear I have a Whodeenee on my hands.

I can't figure it out. I always check the snakes at least twice a day. No other snakes have gotten out of these containers. Maybe the lid wasn't on all the way. Beats me. He's escaped at least 3 times from various cages. Guess you can say he's perfected it.

I'm curious, but how big is this snake? Looks like he might be in for a name change, eh? lol

Well at least you caught the escape early enough to know that he's not TOO far... Maybe he found a new favorite hiding place?

He's not even a yearling yet. Maybe 12 in. What I'm afraid is my luck will finally run out with the cats and they'll find him first.

What are those "beam me up Scotty" things called in Star Trek?, Any sign of one in the tank.... hope he turns up soon. :)

I'm really starting to think this snake is using a transporter and that he is from out of this world.
