hi, i was wondering what everyone else uses in their set up for a ball python, or boas, because some have similar heat requirements. Im trying to decide on what im going to use once i get mine thanks
If you're referring to heat again, I thought you got some good ideas in the other thread? But I'll answer it again... I use a Habistat heat mat which covers around 1/2 the viv, and this is connected up to a thermostat.
In terms of the rest of the setup: I have 2 hides, one either side, a large water dish, aspen bedding, and plants/branches for the heavy critter to climb on. He likes climbing, for some reason.
Thanks! No, I didn't make it myself... I'm hopeless at DIY I bought my vivs flatpack. They're by a company called Aquapac, if you want to look them up.
Nice viv, im still trying to decide what to do, i might see if i can get my hands on one of those. What are your opinions on Ceramic Heaters, i like how they dont give off light.

I haven't used one, so I can't give you an evaluation of them. But like I have said, I swear by UTHs. A ceramic heater would probably work, but they may dry out the air in the tank and remember that BPs like higher humidity than corns (around 60%.)
Ya, ill always use a UTH, i wasnt sure if ceramic heaters would dry the air out or not though. (Kind of a dumb question) should i just get a higher wattage UTH if i want higher temps?
