Well, First I would like to introduce myself. My name is Greg. I live in Denver, CO and I am new to this forum. I have read through some of the messages here and have found some very interesting stories and some great tips on the care and keeping of Corn Snakes.

Sunday, I bought my first Corn. It is a red albino motley (1 month old) , I held it for the first time today and it is wonderful.
I can tell that this little creature will be near and dear to me and my kids. However, we have yet to come up with a name for our snake so I thought I would ask for some opinions.

Please feel free to leave your suggestions :)

Well...I am not really a name creative person. But Congrats on the new snake and welcome to the forum.

I am Simon from London Ontario (I know that most people didn't know that there was a London in Ontario....LOL...everytime I say London, people think of the London in UK...)

Just my 2cents.....get the "Corn Snake Manuel" by Bill and Kathy Love. This is a great book and you'll benefit so much from this book.

You can get it at:

Good Luck and Happy Herping!

Hello Greg. I cant offer any name suggestions for your new corn (Im sure others will) but I'd like to welcome you to the forum. Now that you've got your first Corn you might as well start saving because sooner or later the addiction will kick in and before you know it you'll have 10. :)

Thanks for the Welcome. I bought that book before I bought my Corn and it was a very helpful book. Anything from how to choose your first corn to what to keep them in. I will continue to look here for great tips on caring for my new corn.

phenix? i can't spell it, but maybe that would be a cute name, with those dark reds in the albino moltleys. I am having trouble naming my breeder female i just bought, she's a hypo.

Phoenix is a cute name for a reddish animal.

There are some threads in the Miscellaneous forum with lots of name ideas. Good luck finding that perfect name!

Welcome Greg,

Well with 75+ animals in my collection(the addiction has run wild) not one of them has a name. Snakes have no ears......henceforth I didn't figure they needed names as they wouldn't come when you called them(just kidding). I have several amel motleys..one of my favorites(who am I kidding) I like them all! Welcome again!

I name all my snakes after the Goa'uld and Tok'ra characters in Stargate SG-1...

The 3 ringnecks I used to have were Selmak, Jolinar and Lantesh...

The two corns I have now are Isis & Osiris.

After all... Col. O'Neill does call 'em "Snake-heads" ;)

I kinda broke the rule though... my viper geckos are Amenet & Apophis, heh.
