Brave Girl Aki

Took some quick pics of Aki today when I had her out. I took them in a well lit doorway, but kept her out of the direct sun for the most part, so some of the pics needed a little brightness and contrast tweaking because they came out a little dull. I was trying to avoid using flash but I did accidentally flash her for one pic. It's amazing the difference between flash and no flash.

I cropped in on some of these to show closer detail.

This camera is actually nothing special. Just an old Nikon Coolpix, only 4 megapixel. I'm getting a used Canon Rebel DSLR from a friend, I think. She's going to let me buy it in increments. It's an older model, but should be a very nice upgrade from this thing.

I did get her in the sun for a few. Check out the iridescent sheen on her head!

Aki shed for the second time for me last week. A MUCH cleaner shed this time. All in one piece, both eye caps and tail tip. This time her red areas seem lighter and more orange than before.

She's been really fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better snake as my first. She has a great disposition. She's really fearless...the only time she's ever been super upset about being found and picked up is when she's in blue and I'm happy to leave her alone during that time.

Otherwise, when I get her out, she's great about being held and loves to explore.

She looks great! I'm so glad I got you two together. She is so adorable. How much does she weigh now? She's getting so big :)

I'm bad, but I still haven't gotten a scale to weigh her with. It's on the list very soon, since I will want to know at what point to start giving her two pinkies at once.
