Breeder box problem

cornsnake addict
Howdy Folks!
I just got 3 little corns this morning. I put them in two "breeder box" type critter cages, (I think Lee's), that has a divider to make one cage into two. Well... the bigger hatchling went right over the top into the other girls compartment. She is a pretty big sized summer '05 hatchling, but squeezed her butt through no problem! I guess the space is big enough for any hatchling to go over, so why is it a "breeder box" with a divider I wonder? Anyway, so now my "breeder boxes" hold one snake each. (No mishap, thank goodness.) Urgh... I have to buy more. I prefer aquariums, but don't have the room at the moment. I was going to divide a 10 gallon for two babies, but I think my dividing days are done. One snake - one cage.

I'm confused.......Lee's makes mostly aquarium products, (mainly fish breeder tanks, extremely small, or betta tanks w/dividers, very small) so could you post a link to the product you have? And if you put 3 corns in a cage with a divider, you'd still have 2 in one side, correct? How big exactly is this cage? Not trying to be rude, just trying to imagine what you have there. :)

Oops, sorry. It's a "Lee's Herp Haven rectangular Breeder Box", and it's 17.75"W x 12"D. I have two of them, which are temporary housing until I get some more 10 gallons. (They work well for feedings.) They come with a plastic, vented divider, so I put 1 in a box by himself, then the 2 girls in another box, with the divider between them. I carefully checked to make sure the divider went all the way to the top, but where I erred (and Lee's) is that corn snakes can push upward on the softish plastic top, thus creating room between the divider and the top. I didn't anticipate that.

those are only good for non-climbing terrestrials. even scorps are able to climb up and over those dividers, or through them some times... i've never figured them good for anything but breeding fish...

I have one of those and the divider does suck. First of all, I needed to tape it to the sides so it wouldnt slip out. Then when i finally finished it, I looked and saw the gap at the top so just tore out the divider. I was trying to house a king and a corn side by side but yeah, kings eat corns so I decided not to use that cage. Definately only good for one snake...
