That doesn't mean that it can't happen at other times, but spring is the most common. Many lizards are breedable multiple times in a given year, but snakes are a little different.
Seems to depend on where you are in the world, but mine (in the UK) mate between March and June, with eggs being laid June-August. So I have only the one breeding season, but it lasts a few months and one female can produce two clutches in that space of time (although not all Corns double-clutch, no matter how often they've mated).
I stagger my breeding year so that I don't get inundated with tons of hatchlings at once and this means that mating occurs anywhere from January till around August although less likely in the latter months
