I am so excited!:D I just got my new Snow settled in. I've been going back and forth on a name, its hard when you dont really know the sex of the snake, so input is welcome on this. LoL. Anyway it is happily exploreing the tank I put it in. I disinfected everything, put some Aspen down, got the tank warmed up, made sure it had water, and put it in and left it be. I'll take pictures later, I want it to calm down after the long trip. Hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

names...

i had a similar problem when trying to name my snow corn..
in the end i did a google search for "snow god" and browsed the results - ending up with the name Chione - the greek godess of snow (or wintery storms depending which translation of ancient greek you get)
in fact im doing this very thing right now... names returned include
Lordaeron
Vera
Ishnarth
Glacies
Kawagebo (tibetian)
Ullr (Norse)
Khuno (south america)
Shuc
Alsius
Khione (also pro Chione) (greek)
Poliahu (south america) {looking at this page, it seems Pele was the goddess of fire... and there i was thinking it was a just a footballer to dumb to spell his real name!]
Ennobis
Sagarmatha (Nepal)

oh the list could go on and on and on......
obviously a lot of these are from peoples fantasy games but theres plenty to go at :)

Thank you both for replying. I'm just thrilled to see the lil guy healthy and adjusting so well.

I had a baby cockatiel that I hand raised about 7 years ago. Obviously as a youngster I couldn't tell what sex it was. I figured if I made up a name that it didn't matter since there was no preconceived idea that it should be male/female.

Taein (pronounced Tay-in) ended up being a male, and is always quick to inform you what his name is (among other things), so there's no changing that one. LOL

(I guess I didn't do a scan to see if the name exists somewhere in this world...but I haven't heard of it. ;) )

Good luck naming your snowbaby.

:)

I prefer comedy names. We called our new snake 'Toes' because she has none!

Had a cat called 'Starpaws' when I was a kid......

I take names off of T.V. shows and movies. Like Gunther off of Friends.
My next Male will be Horatio and my next female will be Calleigh both off of CSI: Miami.

And is it just me or does everybody like taking pictures of their pets.

i'd suggest lookin at it's tail, males usually have fatter and longer tails but ummm i dunno shivas cool or wat bout emmmmmm blizzard or ice or sumtrhin totally opposite like flame hehe
