what can i do to warm up the cool side of the tank. it gets to 65 at night and about 70 in the day is that too cold? how can i warm it up? :shrugs:

You would be surprised at how well your snake can handle cold conditions but that isn't TOO cold. The cool side is good at 70-75 degrees. I don't even worry with my cool side honestly. I wouldn't want it in the 50's but I know he will go to his warm side if he gets too cool. That is where he spends his day time hours anyway. As long as your snake has a good warm side of around 85 degrees, he should be just fine. Make sure he has a hide at both ends so he can choose where he wants to hang out. What kind of heat are you using for him??
Also, are you taking the temps with a probe type thermometer down on the substrate or is that air temps???

i got a digital with a probe on top of glass over uth and a digital thermo/hygrometer on the cool side, and yes i have 2 hide spots on both sides

Sounds like everything is good to go. :) What are your temps on the glass over your uth? You have two hides on each side or one hide on the warm side and one on the cool side? Because that is all you need really is just one on each side.

i meant i had one on each side and the temp on the glass above the uth is usually at 85 (i hav a zoomed reptithemp 500r thermostat to control heat)

I kind of figured that's what you meant but wanted to make sure... LOL! Chris, it sounds like everything you are doing is just right! I'm kind of new at this myself and I have learned SO much from everyone on here and just reading through older threads. Your temps sound great!! It sounds like you are taking very good care of your snake. If you EVER have questions, speak up and post a thread. Everyone on here will help you. If you can, get yourself a really good snake care book. They are a really big help too. I have soaked up so much info on corn snakes and their needs that I feel like a walking snake encyclopedia now. Hehehehehe...
You're doing great and good luck!
