bum first

im not sure if this is a health/feeding problem but my new corn snake has fed with me 4 times. 3 out of the 4 times he has eaten it bum first, i was wondering if this is bad for them or has no effect on the snake and just makes them weird :eats02:

No problem. I have had some that eat butt first...every time....and others never have. Either way they eat the hole mouse so it doesn't matter if it's butt or head first.

I think round here the technical term is "butt muncher"!

Seriously though, as long as the food's going in and staying down, then eating it from any direction is fine.

Sometimes it takes longer for them to eat a mouse butt-first, as the legs don't naturally fold that direction and the snake has to work harder to swallow. Apart from that, it's really not a problem with d/f mice of any size.
