congrats on the eggs~

I too hope that they'll hatch for you.

I agree the female looks small but at least she made it through~

´ll shoot some pics when the hatch out.

i don´t think that the weight is sooo important if they are good feeders. low weight + bad feeder ...that ´ll raise the risk.

Hi Martin,

Do you know how much she weighed before she bred to the male? I think my Bloodred is about the same size. Also a good feeder.

sorry marcel!

i do not scale them. i guess when mother nature thinks ít´s time for them it should be ok. i only opress pairings of bad feeders.

i also bred my bloods het. pewter with similar size/weight as the butter, preshed 4 or 5 days ago. lets see.

My Pewter het female also preshed a little while ago. It was on March 31. So they willbe close ;) Interresting.

@ dayne

yeah, they were all fertile

@ alex

she is round 80-85 cm, that should be 31-32 inch, if i´m right
(1 inch = 2,54cm)

something i want to add for common:
if you have a 1st time breeding girl always breed her with the guy you want (guess often also a 1st time breeder boy). i do that twice, and one week later, let the girl have fun with a tested male. unfertile eggs in a first time breeder girl (and in general) will maximize the risk for her.

yeah, like marcel said.

last year i had some troubles with a female bloodred, though i did as described above. all eggs infertile in the first and in the second clutch. i couldn´t see the infertile (small) egg stucking in her from the first clutch and in the second clutch she laid a stinking black rotten one. was a hard stuff, she nearly died and this year no eggs in her. seems that i´ve to give her away next year if ....

Thanks Camus.

I think my Aztec Normal has about 6 eggs in her. She is 235g and is about 32 inchs. I hope she lays them all fine.
