I had a similar lid but didnt have the opening in the center. Aside from that it looked very similar to yours. I ended up in the first week of having my snakes naming one Houdini. they can somehow get to the top of an aquarium (the plastic rim on the inside) Needless to say somehow she got up there and managed to have her head and part of her neck all the way out. Luckly I was reading a book Cathy Love on Cornsnakes and decided to try and figure out what color one of them was. Well needless to say the lid was ducttaped all around for the rest of the night and a bunch of books on top and my snakes got a new viv the next morning. Im new to this but I can tell you that even a small snake can lift a lid if there is a way. Good luck and if It was me I would get some opinions on that lid It could be heavier than mine was but they sure have ways of trying to escape.

im pushing up with a decent amount of force in the picture to get it to come up but theres no way for you to see the pressure lol.

I used those before using sterilite. You'll need clips to hold them down. A pair on each side will do the trick.

Yes, you do need to hold them down at the center hinge--lost one that way (ends were clipped, middle wasn't). The ones I use now are clipped at the ends and weighted in the center.

Alright thanx for the insight...these are the clips that came with the cage i hav but they dont snap on tightly..anyone kno a site where i can get a different style clip?

Bend them slightly on the long side of the clip and they will hold nice and tight. They should have come with directions that said to do that, if not, now you know! :)
