I have an amel hatched Aug. 06. Can I assume at 32 inches and 152 grams he is going to be on the larger side? Right now I have him in a 20g long viv. I was told it should be fine for an adult corn. I'm now starting to think that's not the case anymore. Since summer is on the way I was thinking about building him something more on the size range of a 40g breeder. I really do not want to start this project in the winter so this summer I would like to put some time into it and make sure its done right and looks good. Anyone have any size suggestions on the viv? I understand corns spend most of there time in hiding. My corn is pretty active.
 
Most corns can live in a 20gallon most of their life but might have to upgrade to a larger size. I personally have a 40 gallon breeder Critter Cage. Check your local hardware store they have great deals on it. I got mine for 70 dollars.
 
I just moved mine from a 30 to a 75 gal.I would guess she was hatched in Aug.06' also.Shes not as big as your guy, but close.The 75 seems perfect.
 
75 is 4x1.5x2

That height is way overkill..

i find the very best size viv for corns are the 50g breeders

20 long is considered an okay size for an adult corn, but to be honest I've never really agreed. I think it's too small. I have Connor in a 40 gallon breeder.

Use your own discretion really - go bigger if you like, but I certanly would not go less than 20 by any means.
 
If you only have one or two corn snake and it's within your means to get a 40+ gallon tank then go right ahead, It would be crazy to try and build a breeding stock giving each snake that size. In my opinion snakes are not an animal that gets board of the same old rock and fake tree, to crawl in circles around a 20 gallon tank is as much fun for them roaming free in the wild, more even because they can let down their survival instinct and not worry about being gobbled up. I don't think snakes have emotional feelings beyond stressed and peaceful. If they have food in their belly, a safe place to hide and are in good health, they are peaceful. 40 gallons is not needed to give them what they want. As long as 20 gallons is enough for them to move about when they need to shed it should be large enough.
