:crazy02: Can I huse mouse saw dust as a bedding for my snakes? I am hussing it at the moment and not sure if its okay? :bounce:

ummm...i don't think...

it's a good idea, it doesn't sound....good, but what exactly is mouse saw dust?

Mouse saw dust? Sounds dusty. Or messy.

Anyway, if it's dusty i wouldn't recommend it. Dust in generally bad for animals. Especially for snakes who are always with their noses on the ground.

There many other types of bedding listed wich are far better for your snakes. Like Aspen or Bed a beast. Just to a forum search.

Snake-specific bedding is really quite cheap, and you always know that you are fine to use it, so why not be safe?

Im not sure where to go ask for bed-a-beast the pet store tells me that I could huse it its like wood shavings not dust! where u keep hamsters in or mice. What else can i huse!?!?

oh, most rodents go on aspen shavings, is that what you have?

also, keep in mind that MOST pet stores don't know the first thing about corn snake husbandry.

 THATS TREU!!! yes if u call it aspen thats it. so is it okay for yearlings?? :-offtopic What will I get if I cross a male bubblegum with a hetro butter-hetro motley female she might be hetro silver too?!?! Please try and help!!

Aspen is the 'preferred' substrate for most breeders, so it is fine. Don't know what the "bubblegum" morph is, but serpwidgets has a discussion of genetics on his site (serpwidgets.com), and Marcel Poots has a genetics calculator (plug in male and female genes and it tells you what the F1 generation will be) on one of his sites. Actually, he now has an all-in-one herp manager which is great if you can find him :)

Post that question on the genetics section of this forum. I'm sure the experienced breeders can help you with it.
