i luv them all.
one you put the UTH under your viv lets u want to change it because of a upgrade can you take it off?
 
They can be removed, just do it very slowly and don't bend it too much. I've removed 2 and put them on different tanks and they work just fine.
 
A couple things you may want to consider though... I don't know what kind of UTH you have, but I know my Repti-Therm instructions said that removing it can damage the wiring inside and it will void the warranty. My advice (whether you decide to take it off or get a new one) is to stick it on a ceramic tile, that way you can switch it to a different viv and never have to un-stick it again!
