can you put a corn snake with a leopard gecko or another snake? my sister says you can i told her no because she wants to put a lizard or other snake in my tank with my corn. i toldher no they will fight and they dont need the same temp and stuff

so can you guys please post and say that im right tell her the snake will fight and not live with other reptiles. because i want her to buy her own tank. my snake is mine and i would like to keep it for a awhile for his whole life to be exact :)

thanks \for the help trying to prove my sis wrong

Lizard may well end up as dinner. Explain that you're happy for your sister to buy your Corn's next meal - that should put her off!

Tell her to do some research before being that stupid. A corn can have a water bowl, hides, heat, and foliage; but no friends:)

As I understand it, in much of their natural range (if not all; the experts can sort that out) baby corn snakes start out by feeding on lizards. I think it's anoles. So a tiny lizard would become a tasty snake dinner! If you put another snake in with your corn snake, you risk either (1) your snake eating it or (2) your snake being eaten. Cannibalism does happen among corn snakes. Kingsnakes & milksnakes really LIKE snake for dinner.

And if none of these eating each other issues happen, stress from having a roommate could cause your snake to stop eating or cause the roommate to stop eating. I arrived around the time the thread "two corns in one cage" or something like that was active. Do a search here for it & it will give all the grisly details. Have your sis read it.

!!Yes!! but not really

i have a beta fish with a corn snake in the same tank BUT the beta fish also known as Beto has his own private home in other words got glas from low's and some selicon from petsmart and made a fish tank on the top left part of my terrarium so yes they are bouth in 1 tank but with different homes.

other wise !!!NO!!! snake will kill them all or viceversa

Cross your fingers that she's not coming home with an adult kingsnake. [:
You should'nt keep them with other snakes or lizards

Wouldn't that suck!!!

only living things that should be put in the same cage as your snake is it's food, and even that's up for discussion

thanks guys because i dont want her being an idiot wasteing money and it getting eatin for dinner. because she wants those little anoles or long tail lizards lol

Anoles = corn snake food! So you got that one right.

Yes, a plastic plant lol

l0ck_0ff read the FAQ and do some research on the forum. You are asking a lot of basic questions! in my opinion you must do the research BEFORE taking your corn (or any animal).

i am doing research now i have been for the past week im getting my snake in 2 weeks

Corn snakes do best living solitary. Enough here has been posted as to the "why nots". Noteworthy though is that introducing other animals can also introduce unwanted disease or parasites also.
If you sister does get a lizard, I'd recommend keeping them well away from each other, especially if they are coming form a pet store. Not saying all pet stores are bad, but many buy their animals from wholesalers that don't have adaquate quarantine procedures.

Personally even if my sister didn't believe me, it is MY snake and MY rules. I wouldn't/don't care if she didn't believe what I said if I say no, I say no and that is IT! No ifs, ands or buts! And if I found out she went behind my back ((Even if no harm was done)) I would be PISSED, even more so if something happened to my snake. Not only did she probably needlessly kill an animal she did so behind my back. You would do well to set her straight and tell her there is no way a lizard is getting into your tank.
