caring for new snakes while staying in hotel..

Bigger house=more snakes!
Hey everyone, my family and I are thinking of making the Daytona show part of a weekend trip so that I can attend for the first time. My question is this, I may want to buy at least one snake. How do I properly care for a snake in a hotel room overnight, then proceed to drive home for 8 hrs the next day? I need to be schooled in this. ;)
I understand that the hotel may not permit reptiles, so I have to be discreet about it.

I bought one at the Anaheim show last year. I brought a small cooler with mooshed up newspaper. Nothing to keep him cold but just to hopefully protect him from the heat of the car on the drive home.
I did keep him in the hotel, better to ask forgiveness than permission in this case I think. I just made sure I left him water when I went to Disneyland the next day, and put the do not disturb sign on the door.

Heck Jon (Frizzlefry) had like a million snakes in the drawer in his room, lol.

As long as the snake hasn't been fed recently, the room temps will probably be fine for him. I remove the water when we get on the road, but offer it when I left him in the hotel.

EDIT: You probably knew, but since I didn't say it specifically, I kept him in the deli cup the whole time as well..

I think most of the hotels allow herps as long as you're discreet, and use the Do Not Disturb sign.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I unfortunately don't have enough room in my current house to bring home a drawer full, but that would be cool. :) I wouldn't have thought about the drawer! The cooler is a great idea for the drive home, and also the do not disturb sign to keep anyone out. Thanks!

I traveled across country with my snakes and stayed at hotels each night. I just put them in tubs with a lot of aspen and gave them water bowls each night. Took them out in the morning when we traveled. At Daytona, I had a small styrofoam cooler that I put any snake purchases in. Worked fine. The trick is keeping them from overheating. They rarely get too cold.
