I think the spray bottle is a great way to up the humidity when needed . I also make moist hide boxes with sphagnum moss and offer those near shed time. they love to lay in the moist boxes..some people offer a moist hide all the time in their set ups.

How do you make a moist hide? Is it just a normal hide with a certain material in it? Sorry for all these questions, but we were all new once ;)

I dont mind the questions..how do you think I learned along the way! I take a tupperware container( dark colored containers are better than see thru ones) , I cut a hole out in the top that the snake can crawl in through. This hole is about two-3 times the girth of the snake generally, and then I fill it to the top with moist moss or moist papertowels. The snake will like the darkness and cover and the dampness will soothe its shed process.

Here is an example of one i used, ( and sorry, hehe..no this pic is not a corn snake. Its a cute Glossy snake from New mexico . I have lots of different kinds of snakes)

A moist hide is a great idea.

Even though we are all new once and all need to get the info we need. There is no need for you to ask these questions when the topics have been covered to death. Check out the search function on the tool bar and you'll get plenty of info there without taking up a lot of bandwidth.

I feel simplicity is the key. keep it basic and less can go wrong.
Good luck,
Adèle
