Thursday...bought my first corn snake, 12 week old, introduced him to his new home, fed it two pinkies, was worried about temp gradient but now ok. Found this forum.

Friday...he stayed hid away.

Sat..he stayed hid away.

Sun..got up this morning at 6am and found him roaming around, opened the door, offered him my hand, and he took to it immediatly. Pissed my self with glee.

Thanks to this forum i've learned the basics to looking after my snake. :)

ps..i'm sure Chico is greatfull too!

sounds like everything is fine there :)

this forum has soo many good people with lots of great ideas and advice, it really is a great help when starting out with your first snake.
I was lucky in that i found the forum before i bought a snake, and so i was well prepared for getting my snake and thanks to the help from the people on this forum i`ve had 12 months of happy, trouble free snake ownership.

Hi again,

nice one Blito, Alex thanks for the welcome. In reply Alex, when you say "morph" do you mean a snake which has been crossbred with a colour not found in the wild? Mine is a regular colour, correct me if i'm wrong, i got tons to learn, are they known as rat snakes?

And while im asking questions, how long can you handle them before they start to get cold?

Cheers.;)

When I say Morph, I mean what type of corn. (e.g. Normal Corn, Amel Corn, Anery Corn)
You say your corn is "regular colour" so by that im gussing its a normal corn (orange coloured)

As long as ur hands are warm, you corn shouldn't get cold. But I normal hold a snake of a maximium of 30min.

Cheers

Alex

as far as handling my snake goes, i usually get her out, go downstairs watch tv, when the adverts come on (bout 15mins later) i put her back :) i do this every day. i handle her more if jobs need to be dun or i am in the "oooo snake" mood. u all know what i mean ;)

LOL, I do that too.

BUT its hard to hold all your snakes every day, if you have 5+ snakes.

Alex

ok, good to know, i' wouldn't like to give the little fella a cold or something, might get my gran to knit a snake warmer or something.
